Archaeology Notes

NR57NE 3 5944 7826

Several cists, each containing calcined or half-burnt bones, were found some years ago when digging the foundation of Lagg Inn. (Lagg: NR 594 785)

New Statistical Account (NSA) 1845.

Lagg Inn, now Lagg Farm, is at NR 5944 7826. The building is believed locally to be of an 18th century date. The whereabouts of the finds is not known locally.

Field Visit (May 1975)

NR 594 782. Several cists containing calcined or half-burnt bones were found in the early 19th century during the building of the former inn at Lagg (NSA 1845).
