Field Visit (November 2022)
NJ 97356 16434 Remains of a line of World War II anti-tank blocks, part of a line which extended from Foveran Links to Blackdog Links. Remains of 8-10 WWII anti-tank blocks made of concrete recorded by Defence of Britain Project. It continues into the Aberdeen City Council area. In 1942 landmines were planted on the beaches near Blackdog, these cleared in 1944.
Visited during fieldwork by SCAPE. This location marker is a central location representing the area covered by a line of anti-tank blocks which extended from Foveran Links to Blackdog Links.
NJ 97955 18078 Visited during fieldwork by SCAPE. Site of concrete tank traps buried in sand. Concrete also visible in the burn.
NJ 97688 17406 Visited during fieldwork by SCAPE. At least 21 cubes on inner side of burn along the edge of the dunes. Some are partially buried in dunes.
