Note (9 January 2025)

A Quoiting Ground is depicted and annotated on the 3rd edition of the OS 25-inch map (Lanarkshire 1912, sheet VII.10) but by the 4th edition of the OS 25-inch map (Lanarkshire 1937, sheet VII.10) the enclosure is annotated 'Tennis Court'. By the publication of the OS 1:2500 map (1955) the area is now part of St Bridget's Primary school grounds. The map of 1912 shows it as an enclosure for the game of Quoits which was a popular game in the early 20th century.
