Side Scan Sonar Survey (4 April 2017)

Side scan sonar data identified an area of anomalies connected to the wartime defence of Scapa Flow, and the subsequent breaking activities by Metal Industries Ltd of vessels of the German High Seas Fleet on the east side of Rysa Little. All locations given to UTM 30 N (WGS84 datum).

Anomalies associated with salvage activities:

X: 488887; Y 6525066. (SS082) Linear feature interpreted as a possible mast element.

X: 488818; Y 6525086. (SS083) Linear feature interpreted as a possible mast element.

Anomalies associated with boom defences:

X: 488864; Y 6525068. (SS081) Wooden boxes to anchor boom nets.

X: 488869; Y 6525047. (SS084) Wooden box to anchor boom net.
