Activities

Aerial Photography (4 August 2022)

Out of Fife to Angus. Infrequent late season colouring led to recording several new sites in the area. Back to Fife via Perthshire where some cropmarks were observed too.

(Information from HES Archaeological Survey (L. Banaszek) 4 August 2022)

Aerial Photographic Interpretation (3 April 2023)

A field boundary and what may be an enclosure have been recorded as cropmarking on oblique aerial photographs (HESAP 2022) in a field to the E of West Adamson farmstead. The field boundary runs from WNW to ESE and is visible to either side of a modern pond. At the W end and to the S of the field boundary is what may be an attached enclosure, measuring about 50m from NW to SE by about 25m. The field boundary is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Forfarshire 1865, sheet xlix).

Information from HES Archaeological Survey (S. Hood) 3 April 2023.
