Activities

Aerial Photography (4 August 2022)

Out of Fife to Angus. Infrequent late season colouring led to recording several new sites in the area. Back to Fife via Perthshire where some cropmarks were observed too.

(Information from HES Archaeological Survey (L. Banaszek) 4 August 2022)

Aerial Photographic Interpretation (22 March 2023)

What may be three roundhouses and a scattering of pits have been recorded as cropmarking on oblique aerial photographs (HESAP 2022) in a field to the S of Upper Birnie farmstead. The possible roundhouses are visible as circular dark marks measuring about 10m in diameter.

Information from HES Archaeological Survey (S. Hood) 22 March 2023.
