Activities

Field Visit (2 September 2022)

The remains of a precast concrete pole or pylon, possibly a beacon, is situated on a reef on the W side of Cramond Island. The bottom third of the pylon remains erect but the upper part has fallen. Attached to the lower part (on opposing sides) is a small rectangular steel plate and a section of pipe. Further lengths of steel pipe lie within the vicinity.

Visited by HES Archaeological Survey (J. Sherriff, A. McCaig) 2 September 2022.
