Note (26 September 2022)

A tower type ExDO (Extended Defence Officers) Post is visible on the NE side of Peterhead overlooking the entrance to the bay. An ExDO post undertook the operation of the controlled minefield that may have existed and other Royal Navy duties as required. The building is visible on an Aerofilms oblique air photograph SAR033534 (flown 1958). It is depicted on an OS 1:2500 map (1964), but may have been demolished in the early 1970's.
