Field Visit (May 1979)

NR26NE 19 260 666.

Situated on rough ground 900m W of Grainel and immediately E of an area of former rig-and-furrow cultivation there is a circular heather-covered mound of stones measuring 6m in diameter and 1m in height. Although there are several small clearance cairns of relatively recent origin in the vicinity, the size of this mound, and its regular rounded profile, with what appear to be two heavy kerbstones on its perimeter on the WSW and SSE, suggest that it is probably a prehistoric burial-cairn.

RCAHMS 1984; visited May 1979
