Watching Brief (July 2020)
NS 58415 67517 (centred) A watching brief was undertaken, in July 2020, during construction work related to the development of land to the S of Firhill Basin on the Forth and Clyde Canal in Glasgow. The works were prepared in consultation with West of Scotland Archaeology Service archaeological advisors of Glasgow City Council and Historic Environment Scotland (HES) with the aim of determining if archaeological deposits survive within the area of the proposed works. This work revealed remains of two brick walls possibly related to Hamiltonhill Slip (Boatbuilding Yard) which stood within the parameters of the site.
