This corn drying kiln has been set into a SE facing slope about 90m SW of the farmstead of South Ardluing (NM70NW 17). It measures about 5.3m from NW to SE by 4.7m transversely overall and the kiln bowl is some 2.9m in diameter and at least 0.6m in depth.

Immediately to the SE of the kiln there is a scarp 0.6m in height that continues to the NE and SW and marks the edge of the cultivated ground or the position of a track.

Visited by HES Archaeological Survey (G Geddes and D Bratt) 29 March 2022.
