(NO 9373 9699) St. Ternan's Well (NR)

OS 6" map, Kincardineshire, 2nd ed., (1904)

St. Ternan's Well: A spring of pure warer on the top of bank near Findon Shore is a medicinal well called 'St. Ternan's' or 'the May' Well.

Name Book 1864.

A few feet down the steep grass-covered bank is a large bowl-shaped hollow in the centre of which is a round well hewn out of the natural rock. The water in the well appears to be stagnant and the well is almost obscured by long grass.

Visited by OS (W D J) 8 November 1961.
