120 Wyndford Road was recorded as part of the Threatened Building Survey on 14th April 2022. The survey was prompted by the proposed demolition of all four tower blocks as apart of the redevelopment of the Wyndford Housing Estate. The four 26 storey tower blocks, 120, 151, 171 and 191 Wyndford Road of 1964 were designed by Harold Ernest Buteux of the Scottish Special Housing Association (SSHA). They were built by Laing Construction for Glasgow Corporation. The Wyndford Housing Estate was built on a 55-acre site which included along with the four tower blocks five 15-storey blocks: three 7-storey blocks; three and four storey courtyard housing; two primary schools; a nursery school and several shops. It was designed to accommodate 1,900 families (about 6,000 people) and completed in 1978. The Wyndford Housing Estate is built on the site of the Garrioch Military Barracks which opened in 1872, later becoming Maryhill Barracks. The barracks were decommissioned in 1959 and demolished in 1961 (see Canmore ID 166210).
