Activities

Note (23 April 2019)

Date Fieldwork Started: 23/04/2019

Compiled by: ACFA West Glasgow

Location Notes: The boulder is situated in rough grazing on a hillside facing S. It is 160m S of an enclosure surrounding St Conal's Cross (Canmore ID 45461) and 75m SW of Penachrig Burn. There is an area of open cast mining around 600m to the SW.

Panel Notes: This conglomerate boulder measures 1.3 x 0.8m and is triangular in plan with almost vertical surfaces to the SE, SW and N. The carved surface faces SE. There are several circular hollows on the top and SE side of the boulder, most of which are probably natural but at least one looks like a cupmark. The adjacent small boulder has no possible cupmarks.
