Metal Detector Find

NJ 23 66 A small assemblage of 9 medieval – post-medieval finds, cAD 1200–1700.

The group comprises two copper-alloy belt mounts, two copper-alloy buckles, two lead tokens, a lead projectile, a lead weight, and a copper-alloy domed mount. Of particular note is a token bearing a version of the Douglas arms and the domed mount made from a re-used crux pellit coin. Two related assemblages from the area were also claimed (TT 230/19; TT 235/19).

Claimed as Treasure Trove (TT 236/19) and allocated to Elgin Museum
