Activities

Note (29 March 2019)

[Formerly recorded under NH56SW 11 (10), discovered by Driscoll and Foster 1989]

Date Fieldwork Started: 29/03/2019

Compiled by: ScRAP

Location Notes: Located in an area of open fenced moorland with thick vegetation coverage, predominantly heather (Calluna Vulgaris), on a SE sloping hillside. The panel is positioned 14m perpendicular to the fence line, which runs N-S along the E side of the panel, 5 1/2 fence posts to the S of the N corner of the fence line (where the fence line turns to the NE). The panel was hidden under dense heather at the time of recording. Strath Sgitheach Cnoc a' Mhuilinn 12 is located c. 25m to the N.

Panel Notes: A long, relatively narrow, pointed oval shaped panel 1.5 x 0.7 m in size, has been carved with 12 cup marks, 9 of which are regular in size, but three of which are larger and deeper. One of these, at the E end of the panel, is especially large. In addition, there are two wide grooves in the centre of the panel, these appear to potentially be man-made although they may be enhanced natural features.
