Note (20 August 2017)

Date Fieldwork Started: 20/08/2017

Compiled by: NOSAS

Location Notes: This panel is situated on an E facing undulating sloping spur between two straths, looking out over the Cromarty Firth towards the Sutors. It is in rough pasture 100m E and downslope of a stone dyke and is part of the Drumore group of Scheduled cup marked rocks (SM 4945). A post medieval farmstead (Canmore ID: 12882) overlies the area 100m to the SE, with a ruined chambered cairn (Canmore ID: 12889) beyond this.

Panel Notes: The panel is a roughly rectangular stone measuring 1.05 x 0.80 m with its longest axis running NE to SW. Its S edge curves and the surface is rough, and level apart from a small raised area at its W edge. There is 1 cupmark in the centre of the panel and three depressions that could be mistaken for cupmarks, one on the W edge and two others on the S edge. The panel rises to a maximum height of 0.15m above ground level.
