Activities

Desk Based Assessment (22 March 2021)

Following the establishment of the adjacent village of Burrelton in 1812 (NO13NE 113), Woodside was founded in 1832 by Thomas Ross, a member of the Ross family of Balgersho on whose estate the new village was built (Gifford 2007, 253). The village was laid out on a triangular plan with the Perth to Aberdeen turnpike road forming its east side.
