Field Visit
NY 2816 6901 On a terrace north of Calverstholm Farm is a low oval earthwork, internally 90m NW to SE by up to 50m, the overall dimensions are 120 by 75m. It occupies the width of the field, close to the road. It is more visible on the N arc, though crossed marginally on NE by a terrace for a former track, and on N, either side of field boundary, is a sub-rectangular raised area. The interior is divided midway by a curved step, and this corresponds to the NW side of a scheduled crop mark (NY26NE 05), which overlaps the south end of the earthwork. In 2018 a wooden pylon was relocated off the site (DES, 2018, 63).
