Field Visit (May 2019)
NN 07812 12340 In May 2019 a rapid desk-based assessment and survey were conducted over a parcel of land west of the Three Bridges, Argyll in advance of forestry. The remains of two townships, Sallachry and Kilmun (Canmore ID: 153701), and associated field clearance and field boundaries were recorded.
NN 07724 12238 Structure A - drystone wall, 030m high x 0.60m wide. Part of township, Sallachry. On OS 1st Ed map, lower wall surrounding township.
NN 07740 12264 Structure B - square cornered drystone rectangular structure, 23m x 6m wide. Internal divisions. Longhouse. On 1st Ed OS map.
NN 07809 12273 Structure C - remains of a structure, SE corner just visible, otherwise levelled out rubble within and enclosure. On OS 1st Ed map as an enclosure.
NN 07749 12315 Structure D - drystone structure 16 x 6m, walls surviving to height. On OS 1st Ed map as an enclosure.

NN 07812 12340 Structure G – gable-ended mortared rectangular structure - large entrance on north side, so used as a barn at one time. Fireplace at west end, so also utilised as a dwelling.

NN 08044 12626 Low wall. Two large trees growing over it. The wall is well built and defines the drop from the higher northern ground to the lower ground on the south side. Now occupied by a burn, but possible once a track?

NN 07743 11871 Short stretch of drystone wall, runs from burn, destroyed by track.
