Ground Survey (January 2005)
Alba Archaeology Ltd. were commissioned by Alan Ross in January 2005 to undertake an Archaeological Desktop and Walkover Survey on a potential quarry site in the two fields directly to the South of Daviot Mains Farm. Two structural features were encountered; one is of little archaeological interest, the other is a revetment wall for the access road to Daviot House and Castle on the periphery of the proposed development area. Should this road remain undisturbed, there are no archaeological reasons to hinder development on the site.
