Field Visit (27 March 2019)
This grass- and gorse-grown weapons pit, which is situated on a SSE-facing slope, formed part of the defences of the battery introduced by the Army during World War 2. It is roughly rectangular on plan and comprises a trench measuring 4.2m from ENE to WSW by 3.6m transversely and up to 0.45m deep, with the upcast shaped into a spread protective bank on the ENE, SSE and WSW.
It is depicted on two RAF aerial photographs (106G/RAF/0751/6039-40) flown on 31 August 1945.
