Standing Building Recording (8 May 2017)
NO 30736 38428 A historic building survey was undertaken,
8 May 2017, in advance of development. The farmsteading
consists of four main barns (A–D) with two large modern
additional barns to the rear (N). Dating back to the late 18th
century, the stone-built barns consist of a former bothy and
cart shed to the W side, a former threshing mill (with wheel
pit) to the N and former animal pens and byres to the E. In
the late 19th century another small linear barn was added
between the barns to the E side to create a four-bay enclosed
series of byres. There is a large farmhouse to the NW of the
steading which is outside the development area.
