Watching Brief (August 2017 - September 2017)
NJ 781 204 A watching brief was carried out, August –
September 2017, during groundwork associated with the
upgrading of a waste water treatment works on a flood plain
at the confluence of the Rivers Urie and Don. A number
of sherds of post-medieval pottery were recovered from a
subsoil deposit overlying the natural river sands and gravels.
These sherds are thought to represent residual activity within
the area rather than indicating the presence of post-medieval
settlement.
