Field Visit (6 February 2014 - 28 February 2014)
(NH 48135 21922) Site 31 A well-built stone and mortar building revetted into hillside. There are two compartments, 10m long and 6m long. The walls stand up to 2.1m on the NW side and 1m on the SE side and are 0.6m thick. Joist holes in the NW wall suggest an upper floor.
(NH 48111 21922) Site 32 Dry-stone dyke on the N side of burn running uphill from the NW corner of site 31. There is an entrance at the building corner through the wall with flag-stone steps leading down to what is now the main road.
(NH 48114 21910) Site 33 A revetment wall on N side of burn standing c. 0.7m high and 0.8m wide.
(NH 48111 21907) Site 34 A revetment wall on S side of burn standing c. 0.7m high and 0.8m wide.
(NH 48112 21902) Site 35 The central building of three, it is stone-built with the NW wall revetted into the slope. This wall stands up to 1.75m high. The building measures c. 9-9.5m x 2.5-3m.

(NH 48072 21885) Site 37 Relict track running WSW from between sites 35 and 40. It measures c.1.8m wide.
(NH 48094 21888) Site 38 Revetted wall on the S side of the track.
(NH 48110 21888) Site 39 A revetted wall between sites 35 and 40.
(NH 48098 21884) Site 40 A stone- and mortar-built structure measuring c. 7.5m x 4m. Walls stand up to 1.5m high and up to 0.7m thick. There is a 0.7m wide entrance visible in the SE wall. The building is revetted into the slope with revetment walls on the SW and NE corners.
(NH 48065 21924) Site 41 A relict track c. 1.8m wide leading to Grotaig.
(NH 48074 21935) Site 42 Stone-built ford on stream.
