Activities

Field Visit (30 June 2016)

CFA Archaeology Ltd assessed the likely effects of the proposed Burnfoot Hill East Wind Farm Extension on archaeology and cultural heritage assets. A walkover survey of the proposed development site was undertaken on 30

June 2016. Two heritage assets have been identified within the proposed development area. A shepherd’s cairns (1) and an old quarry (2) are each assessed as being of negligible sensitivity.

Field Visit (30 June 2016)

A small, partially turf covered heap of stones, 2.5m by 2m and 0,2m high, lies in rough pasture grassland on a platform at the northeast end of a knoll. The cairn is probably a small shepherd’s marker cairn.
