Metal Detector Find (2017)
NO 20 18 An unusual Iron Age copper-alloy strap mount was found W of Carpow Roman fortress. It is in the ‘massive’ style of NE Scotland, in a figure-of-eight form (the rings bearing trumpet decoration) with a central
enamelled circular field with triskele design. The rings show use damage. L 81mm.
Claimed as Treasure Trove (TT 37/17) and allocated to Perth Museum
