Field Visit (March 1978)
Wuddy Law NO 629 523 NO65SW 19
A scatter of stones spread over an area of dark soil measuring about 40m in diameter is probably all that remains of a cairn whose diameter measured '45 yards, and the height 4'. When most of the mound was removed about 1810 several 'earthen vessels' were found. One gets the impression of a ploughed down 'rim' with a hollowed centre. In this area the stone material ploughed up in the soil, is different to that elsewhere (although slate is also present).
