Glorious Gardens (13 October 2017)

Baronald, now known as the Cartland Bridge Hotel, lies on the northern edge of Lanark off the Carluke to Lanark Road. The estate has origins in the late 14th century and was owned by William Lockhart in 1793. The property went on to have a number of owners, and the house was remodelled in the late 1880s. It became a hotel in 1962 and continues as such today. Cartographic, documentary and pictorial evidence have been used in the compilation of this report.
