Three whorls from different parts of Sanday, now in the National Museum of

Antiquities of Scotland (NMAS, three of BE 33-7).

Orkney Smr Note

Among objects bought at the Kirkwall Museum sale donated to

the National Museum of Antiquities were three stone whorls found

in different parts of Sanday, 1823-6. These presumably came

from the collection of Dr Wood. [R1]

BE33-7 whorls of stone and one of Lead, from Orkney, Col

Balfour, 1863. [R2]
