OS 6" map (1970)
Inverkeilor Church dedicated to St Macconoc or Conan, was built towards the end of the 17th century. It was originally a long narrow building about 79ft in length by a breadth of only 20ft. At a later period possibly c.1735 part of the back wall was removed and the Anniston Aisle, 26ft each way added.
The Burial vault of the Northesk family is attached to the east end of the church. Several armorial panels are built in the higher parts of the front wall. On one is the date 1635 and the initials ICMH.
New Statistical Account (NSA) 1845; A J Warden 1882.
The Burial Vault attached to the east end of Inverkeilor Church, is roofless and measures 6x7mx3m in heigth. In its south wall are 3 armorial panels (one bearing the date '1636' - note 1635 as stated) and 2 possible rectilinear windows. The other walls are plain and all have been quite recently pointed. These walls are of rubble construction. The church itself bears the dates 1799 and 1862 and does not appear to be of earlier date than the 18th century.
