Field Visit (19 April 2001)
There are at least three huts, associated with four small enclosures and a pen situated along the foot of the SW-facing scarps to the SE of Bidean Boidheach and Beannan Breaca. The huts are bi-cellular on plan, with their main compartments linked by a low lintelled passage, or creep, to smaller secondary cells. The larger compartments range from 2.9m to 5.7m long by 2.1m to 2.8m transversely within drystone rubble walls 0.7m thick and up to 1.2m high. The most southerly hut (EIGG01 2) has a lintel in place over the creep; while traces of what may be an earlier hut to its SW measure 2.8m square. The main chamber of another hut (EIGG01 3) situated 18m to the NW overlies the remnants of a precursor, while yet another hut (EIGG01 4) is located 22m NW. A pen (EIGG01 5) immediately to its NE, constructed against the base of an overhang, measures 2.3m from NNW to SSE by 1.3m transversely within drystone rubble walls 0.5m thick and 0.4m high. It may be linked to an annexe by a creep on its NNW.
