Activities

Desk Based Assessment (22 June 2016)

The Camp Hill Viaduct, which carries the main railway line between Motherwell and Hamilton across the River Clyde, comprises a wrought iron and concrete decking supported on a series of stone piers. It has been modified in recent years, including the introduction of gantries to carry overhead power lines. There is an engineer’s drawing dating to 1921 (tracing showing plans and sections of the viaduct) in the National Records of Scotland (RHP 120652).

Information from HES Survey and Recording (JRS) 22 June 2016.
