Meadowland was recorded in 2019 due to its sale by the original owners. The house was designed by the architects Morris and Steedman, completed in 1964, the owners having seen other properties designed by the practice. Morris and Steedman were then contracted to extend the house with new wing and joining conservatory passage in 1974, completed in 1976. The house is possibly unique in houses by Morris and Steedman in its curved wave roof.
Meadowland is built close to the site of the earlier Summerbank House, now demolished, possibly after the Second World War and the plot subdivided.
