Archaeological Evaluation (9 August 2014)
NT 1670 6676 An evaluation was undertaken on 9 August 2014 in advance of the development of a new training pitch on ground at Malleny Park. An evaluation of 1020m2 was requested, but the presence of live services limited the area available for assessment to 800m2. The machine excavation of four trenches revealed that the area had been heavily truncated during the construction of the current playing fields, with
modern drains spaced at regular 1m intervals. No finds or features of archaeological significance were recorded.
