Metal Detector Survey (6 April 2013 - 12 April 2013)

NS 81620 91760 A metal detector survey was carried out, 6–12 April 2013, at Carse Fields to the E of Stirling. The survey was carried out in collaboration with the Centre for Battlefield Archaeology and undertaken by volunteers under the supervision of professional archaeologists. This first phase of work focused on the ground at Broadleys Farm to the E and W of the A91. Significant finds included two possible copper alloy medieval finger rings, a copper alloy horse harness ornament, a stirrup fragment and a possible shield boss.
