Activities

Archaeological Evaluation (June 2013)

NT 283 653 A programme of evaluation and recording was carried out in June 2013 on the remains of a disused mine ventilation shaft in the grounds of Mavisbank House. The ventilation shaft probably relates to the mining activities of Bilston Colliery. The ventilation shaft appears on the OS 6” maps of 1854 and 1894.
