Activities

Note (13 March 2015)

Extending for 2.4km on the E side of Loch Doon (extends in to map sheet NX49SE) is a tracked target range. It was built as part of the range for training aerial gunnery towards the end of the First World War. The tracked target range survives as a series of raised trackbeds and concrete bridges. The southern terminal ends in a concrete building which may have housed equipment which suggest that the bogies were cable towed.
