NO54NW 7 c. 503 472

A Late Bronze Age decorated socketed axe, found at Craichie [name: NO 503 472], is preserved in the British Museum (Accession no. 91.41-18,3).

W Henderson 1938; J M Coles 1962.

(Socketed axe of Sompting type). Single find. Socketed axe, slightly asymmetrical, hammered blade, marks of sharpening. Length 122mm, mouth 27 x 30mm, cutting edge 68mm, weight 307 gms. British Museum (91.4-18, 3).
