Hollywood Hotel was a large building incorporating the former Underbank House or villa and a large extension to the SE. During the Second World War it was commissioned on the 12 October 1942 as part of No 4 Combined Training Centre or CTC Largs (HMS Warren). Senior officers in all services were given training on Combined Operations at this and other buildings in Largs which formed part of the training centre.
