Field Visit (24 April 2010)
This ruined farmstead, which is situated in improved pasture 175m SE of Old Virse (HP60SW 147), measures about 10m from N to S by 4.5m transversely over rubble walls. There is an outshot to the N from which projects another outshot to the E and there is a roughly rectangular yard to their W. The whole is shown roofed on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Shetland 1882, Sheet VIII), which also indicates that the yard was then subdivided into two halves.
