Note (11 August 2014)

A series of at least five drainage channels built by soldiers in 1763 in an attempt to improve land on the forfeited estate of Rannoch Moor. The scheme to create agricultural land was unsuccessful, but the trenches can still be seen. The southern part of the trenches has been cut by the railway.
