Activities

Field Visit (6 February 2014 - 6 February 2014)

Site of Railway Swing Bridge centred on NH 37604 09140

This site is located on the line of the old railway track where it would have crossed the canal. A railway station has been recorded on the south bank of the canal and a railway bridge, NH30NE 55, is on the north bank of the canal. No evidence of the railway swing bridge, reputed to have been hand operated, is seen at this location today.
