Project (February 2014 - July 2014)

A data upgrade project to record war memorials.

Note (5 April 2017)

Annals of Sanquhar details the construction of the Institute on New Road (now Glasgow Road) after WW1, incorporating a war memorial, plaques being located either side of the principle entrance. The building appears on the 3rd edition of the OS (six inch series) notated as Hall.

McCracken notes the Institute was later sold before demolition in the 1980s. The plaques have been incorporated within the war memorial located next to The Waird on McKendrick Road.
