OS 6" map, Forfarshire and Angus, 2nd ed., (1902)

White Cairn: A large, artificially constructed circle of small stones, with large ones forming the outside. It is c. 33' in diameter and 2' high.

Name Book 1861.

White Cairn (name confirmed) is situated on the edge of a cleared part of the moor and measures 10.0m in diameter and 0.5m maximum height. A few large boulders are spread around the perimeter of the cairn forming a retaining kerb.
