Field Visit (February 2005 - March 2005)

SU67:

The footings of three buildings are situated in close proximity on a grassy slope above a sandy bay. Tehreare:

(i) a rectangular stone building, 3.5 x 5m, with walls 0.65m wide standing up to 0.4m high. The footings are covered with turf and no trace remains of internal features.

(ii) a curvilinear building, 4 x 4.5m, with traces of a stone inner wall face. The walls are c. 0.25m high and 0.5m wide.

(iii) Part of a rectilinear building upslope from (i). This measures 5 x 5m. The walls are 1.2m wide and 0.45m high.

At NF 79391 14303 are traces of drainage channels and cultivation remains over an area c. 50 x 50m. These are located on sloping, south-facing land c. 2m above a sandy bay. To the east of this area are drainage channels running with the slope, 3-4m apart. The west are rigs measuring 1m wide, set 0.3m apart.
