(NO 4938 4331) Cists found (NAT)

OS 1:10,000 map, (1972)

Four or five cists were dug up here by Mr Warden (Rosekinghall) about 1850. Each contained an urn and bones; one of the urns was ornamented, the others, plain. One cist was smaller than the rest, and contained a smaller urn.

Name Book 1859.

Local enquiries produced no further information and there is nothing significant at the find spot.

Visited by OS (R D) 7 September 1967.
