World War One Audit of Surviving Remains (29 October 2013)

Osborne (2006) records a drill hall that in 1914 was drill station for "B" Squadron, Lothians & Border Horse, and base for "E" Company, 8th battalion, The Royal Scots. Osborne incorrectly notes the drill hall as being on Eskbank Road and that it was subsequently demolished to make way for a Post Office building.

The 3rd edition OS 25-inch map depicts a Drill Hall on Buccleuch Street. It was demolished for redevelopment.

Information from HS/RCAHMS World War One Audit Project (GJB) 29 October 2013.
