World War One Audit of Surviving Remains (24 October 2013)

Osborne records the drill hall in Latta Street next to 'Hartfield House' (on the corner of Latta Street and Bonhill Road). The hall was not shown on the 2nd epoch map (surveyed 1914) but was in place by the 1937 4th epoch survey. He records Hartfield House as in 1914 being the HQ of the 9th battalion, Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders, while the drill hall was the base for "C" Company.

The drill hall survives as part of a Territorial Army complex.

Information from HS/RCAHMS World War One Audit Project (GJB) 24 October 2013.
