Activities

Reference (1934)

'A large number of people attended the opening and dedication of a new church in the Island of Luing, which has been built on a site gifted by Thomas Tyson, owner of the ground. It is of a simple design, and has accommodation for 140 worshippers.

The church was dedicated by the Rev. Dr Roderick Macleod, Edinburgh, deputy of the Highlands and Islands Committee of the Church of Scotland.

An address on the Church from Reformation times was given by the Rev. E A MacGillivray, minister of the parish of Kilbrandon and Kilchattan, of which Luing forms part.

The pastoral work in Luing is carried on by John Morrison, missionary'.
